Sailesh Chutani, Ph.D., CEO and Co-founder
Sailesh has 25 years of experience in creating successful new businesses and products. Prior to Mobisante, he managed $100m worth of exploratory research investments in emerging technologies to identify and seed new businesses at Microsoft. He also led the turnaround of the WebTV acquisition into a profitable business, launching multiple new product and services with revenues that peaked at $220m. He has had business and technical leadership roles in companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Oracle and Transarc – a startup acquired by IBM that became a billion dollar business.
Sailesh has championed cell phone technologies in healthcare since 2005 and he co-authored the book, “Technology at the Margins” that takes a global view of the impact of the mobile phone on healthcare, education, micro-finance and resource management.
Sailesh has a PhD from Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, a Master’s degree from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor in Technology from IIT, Kanpur in India, all in Computer Science.

David M. Zar, CTO and Co-founder
David has 20 years of experience in various aspects of ultrasound hardware and software design and development. Prior to Mobisante he was a research associate at Washington University in St. Louis where he worked on ultrasound, high-speed telecommunications, asynchronous circuits and meta-stability analysis of synchronizers.
He was a co-founder of two start-ups; Z&R Technologies and BLENDICS. He has written device drivers and user applications, as well as designed hardware used in ultrasound imaging. He has a track record of pursuing cutting edge research and translating research into successful products.
David has a Masters’ and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis. He lives in St. Louis, MO.

Marcus Smith, Chief Financial Officer
Marcus Y. Smith served as Chief Financial Officer of SonoSite, Inc., a public traded (NASDAQ) company and the world leader in point-of-care ultrasound until 2012 when he led the sale of the company to FujiFilm, Inc. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors for various non-profit organizations and serves on the Advisory Boards of early stage companies in the medical technology sector.
Mr. Smith joined SonoSite in 2007 as the Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Growth Planning, was promoted to Vice President, General Manager of Cardiovascular Disease Management in July 2009, and served in this role before becoming Chief Financial Officer in 2010. Prior to SonoSite, Mr. Smith was the Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development at Philips Medical Systems where he led strategic and M&A initiatives in critical care, cardiac care, new ventures and emerging markets.
Prior to Philips, he was a Vice President of Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan, in New York and London. His other professional experiences include investment banking in Latin America and assisting a state-owned Polish bank transition to open markets in the post-Soviet era. He began his career at Xerox Corporation.
Mr. Smith received his bachelor’s degree in public policy from Duke University, a master’s degree in international affairs (economic and political development) from Columbia University, as well as a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University. |

Dr. Bradley N. Younggren, MD, FACEP, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Younggren is the Chief Medical Officer of Mobisante, Inc. He is also the Director of Emergency Ultrasound at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in Kirkland, Washington and the Medical Director of Emergency Preparedness and the Associate Trauma Medical Director. Before coming to Evergreen, Dr. Younggren spent 11 years at Madigan Army Medical Center where he helped pioneer point-of-care ultrasound for the Army in both the Emergency Department as well as in the pre-hospital and combat environments. He continues to serve as a consultant to the Army’s Central Simulation Committee primarily involved in ultrasound- based simulation curriculum.
Dr. Younggren is also the current president of Revolution Ultrasound, an ultrasound education and consultation company. He has provided assistance to numerous hospital groups in creating bedside ultrasound programs. He provides oversight for the use of ultrasound in the pre-hospital setting for Redmond Medic One. He was been the course director for WaACEP’s ultrasound course for the past five years and will be running WaACEP’s ultrasound lab this year. Dr. Younggren is an assistant clinical professor of Medicine at the University of Washington as well as Adjunct Professor in Emergency Medicine, Baylor School of Medicine. He is also a Faculty of Conflict and Catastrophe Medicine, The Worshipful Society of the Apothecaries of London. Dr. Younggren served a tour of duty in Iraq where he earned a Bronze Star for his performance with the 2-14 Cavalry Squadron (Stryker).

Jeff Baker, VP – Sales and Business Development, USA
Jeff Baker joined Mobisante in 2012 to lead the commercialization efforts in the US market. In less than six months he has lined up major partners and customers for Mobisante, ranging from hospitals and urgent care clinics. Jeff has over 20 years’ experience in sales and sales management in point-of-care devices. As VP of Sales for EPOCAL, he led efforts for the acquisition by Alere Medical for $252 million. Jeff also helped raise $5mil in funding for Wellness Environments, a startup company based in TN.
Prior to EPOCAL, he was VP of Sales at i-STAT. As one of their top salesperson he helped grow the business leading to the acquisition of i-STAT for $650 million. Jeff also has experience in wireless cellular market and other innovative technology companies where he directed efforts to significantly change the norms in the industry. He attended the University of Memphis focusing on Business.

Menahem (Meno) Nassi, PhD, VP – International Business Development (Consulting)
Dr. Nassi has been a successful Medical Technology Entrepreneur, R&D Executive, and CEO since 1991 with companies in the Silicon Valley. These include DiaSonics (Director R&D, Ultrasound Division), Cardiometrics (CEO), EndoSonics (Director), PharmaSonics (CEO), MedGenics (CEO), ReVascular Therapeutics (CEO), NextRay (CEO), Advanced Bifurcation Systems (Interim CEO).
He successfully led Cardiometrics IPO in 1995 and M&A with EndoSonics in 1997. Since then he has led multiple venture capital rounds and strategic corporate financings for several medical startups. He earned his PhD in Bioengineering – Medical Imaging Systems from Stanford University.

Nikhil J. George, Chief Engineer
Nikhil is the Chief Engineer at Mobisante and responsible for product architecture, design, and managing engineering and QA activities. Prior to joining Mobisante, Nikhil was the CEO of PodCurry, a startup that built a mobile and cloud services offering for media companies. At Microsoft, Nikhil worked on several new products such as the Oslo Server, and technologies included in Windows Azure, .Net Framework 4.0, Windows Server App Fabric and BizTalk Server. He has expertise in distributed application monitoring, management, and modeling and pioneered the use of commodity hardware and map reduce to do high performance computing. He also built one of the first autonomous mobile robots in India in the late 90’s.
Nikhil’s work has won him multiple awards from IEEE, IIT Bombay, Sony Corporation and Carnegie Mellon University. Nikhil has a Masters in Robotics from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s in Electronics from the University of Mumbai.

Lydia Zibin, MBA, RDMS, Director, Clinical & Global Market Development
Lydia joined Mobisante in 2011 to lead the clinical, marketing and global initiatives, after consulting with the company. Lydia has over 20 years’ experience in strategy development and marketing. After earning her MBA at the University of Washington, she worked at various medical device and startup companies to develop and launch multiple products globally.
Lydia has clinical expertise in ultrasound. She is certified in abdominal, echocardiography and OB/Gyn ultrasound, She has worked at ATL (now Philips) and Siemens ultrasound where she led efforts in the development and commercialization of ultrasound imaging systems. She also volunteers for public health missions to Africa to provide ultrasound imaging to the underserved communities. |
